Warwick Publishing Co., St. Charles, Ill., announced yesterday that its president and co-owner, Jim Paschal, passed away peacefully on May 30 due to health complications from diabetes. His family held a private graveside service on Tuesday, June 8.
“It has been a wonderful and memorable 30-plus years of traveling and working with Jim,” said Phil Martin, Warwick’s national sales manager. “Hundreds of shows and a tremendous amount of time on airplanes and in hotels—and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So many memories and laughs we could write a book. Jim always had a smile on his face and a positive attitude. He not only was a trade show and travel buddy, he was a true friend. Life on the road just won’t be the same.”
Jim, along with his brother, Rob, acquired Warwick from their father, Don, and uncle, John Paschal. Between 1977 and 1989, Jim and Rob transformed Warwick from a company that published newspapers and promotional products to solely focusing on promotional products, including the original calendar line from 1926.
Along with the everyday grind of running a successful business, Jim also represented Warwick at trade shows, regularly attending PPAI, ASI and regional shows. He is also a past-president of YEPPA (Young Executives of Promotional Products).
Jim is survived by his wife, Kim; his brother, Rob; and nephew, Alex. Warwick would like any donations directed to the American Diabetes Association.
