Kool-Aid is trying to become the official beverage of back-to-school fashion by introducing a branded line of sneakers and apparel in a partnership with Puma.
Some of the designs incorporates the famous Kool-Aid Man mascot with the Puma logo or wearing Puma sneakers on the design. The line also includes tie-dye shirts that reference the various flavors of Kool-Aid.

These branded collaborations are becoming a common thing for apparel companies and consumer brands alike. Brands like Kool-Aid don’t need much explaining, so you can feature the mascot with “Puma” instead of “Kool-Aid” and everyone will still recognize it.
For sneaker collectors, this creates demand for a limited-run of special-edition sneakers.
The way Puma and Kool-Aid advertised it was neat, too. The brands used lunch trays that complemented the items’ color schemes, touching on nostalgia for those of us thinking back to our school cafeteria days and enticing current students to stand out once they head back to class.

We might just crack open one of those plastic Kool-Aid bottles today and pretend the cap is a lobster. Just like the good old days.
